The India and Bangladesh cricket match has created some memorable moments over the years. This time they face each other off in China in the hunt for a place on the podium. With Pakistan being knocked out by a surprising Afghan performance, this game was considered as the potential gold medal playoff. This Asian game of cricket has sparked new interest in cricket in a country without a rich cricketing pedigree.

Captaincy & Tactics
India used only one front-line pacer in the form of Arshdeep Singh. The decision to play with 3 specialist spinners was the right one as the slowness of the wicket made life difficult for the Bangladeshis. Gaikward also showed judiciousness in choosing his bowlers to ball at the right moments. They repaid the faith by delivering regular wickets.
Batting Analysis
Parvez Hossain Emon tried hard to score some runs but none of his teammates were able to help him. He played 55% of his runs on the leg side in a resilient 23. Jakir Ali was unbeaten and helped the score to a respectable look.
Tilak Varma has shown glimpses of his enormous talent while playing white ball cricket for team India. The left-hander was in his groove with shots played all around the ground. He was elegant against the spin bowlers by using his feet well. He played 63% of his shots on the front foot – a sign of authority on a challenging pitch.
Varma also looked comfortable on the back foot. He pulled the ball well towards the midwicket region. This particular type of shot earned him 18 runs. Jaiswal got out early on and India looked to be in a tricky situation. Varma and Gaikward bailed them out.
Ruturaj Gaikwad has earned plaudits from the experts for his brave captaincy. He batted fearlessly and finished the game off with an unbeaten innings of 40 runs. The second wicket stand made sure India crossed the finishing line without another setback.
Bowling Analysis
Rai Kishore is a brilliant talent to watch out for from an Indian point of view. He zipped, turned, and skidded the ball to make life difficult for the Bangladeshi batters. He pitched 60% of his balls on the good length region and made the batsmen toil for runs. He just gave away 12 runs and stifled his batsmen.
Washington Sundar also bowled immaculately to restrict the Bangladeshi. The tall spinner was getting a good amount of bounce from the wicket and gave away just 15 runs. He bowled a staggering number of 16 dot balls. Arshdeep Singh was the only seam bowler in the side and was finding the block regularly. He conceded just 10 runs. Bangladeshi bowler Ripon Mondol got the only wicket for his side as India cruised to victory within 9.2 overs.
Fielding Analysis
The fielding department of India has been exceptional in this tournament. The brilliant catch taken by Verma was the highlight of a spectacular display in the outfield.
On the other hand, Bangladesh bowlers failed to show anything of note to restrict the Indian total.
Key Performances
Gaikward and Varma played brilliant cricket to see the match through. They both scored 40+ runs to see the team through. Sai Kishore was brilliant with the ball. Bangladeshi players failed to provide any inroads throughout the match. Emon and Jakir tried their best with the bat but to no avail.
Turning Point
Parvez Hossain Emon was the sole bright light in a rather dismal batting scorecard. The batsman was playing the ball across the ground and looked to be well set. Tilak Varma tossed one up and Emon obliged with a wild swing. Bangladesh lost its way from there on.
Match Result
India won the match resoundingly by 9 wickets.
Player of the Match
Tilak Varma was the unofficial man of the match for his unbeaten innings of 55 runs.

Match Wrap-Up
Despite the build-up, it was a pretty one-sided affair in the end. The Indians showed their class with the ball followed by a dominating batting performance. Now they are just a game away from the gold medal. Bangladeshi players were humbled and outclassed in every department and now they face Pakistan in the bronze medal decider.
