KEY BETTING STATS

BETTING ANALYSIS For Pakistan
Pakistan will take to the field for a second consecutive 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup fixture in Hyderabad as they take on Sri Lanka, four days after defeating the Netherlands on the same ground by 81 runs. Babar Azam’s side scored 286 with the bat, before bowling out Netherlands for 205 in response. Mohammad Rizwan was crucial once again for Pakistan batting at number four, and recording 68 runs, the joint-highest score of the match. Rizwan has now accumulated 154 runs across Pakistan’s last two official ODI fixtures including his 86 in their 2023 Asia Cup defeat to Sri Lanka. Such form makes Rizwan worth backing to score 30+ runs in this match, although those looking for a bigger return on their investment can back the Pakistan wicket-keeper-batter to score 50+ runs. Also, consider a small stake in Rizwan via the ‘Team – Top Batter’ market. From a bowling perspective, right-arm pacer Haris Rauf continued his reliability when it comes to picking up wickets, taking three against Netherlands which was more than any other Pakistan bowler. Rauf’s consistency is ideal from a betting point of view and backing him to take over 1.5 wickets again here has to be favored, as does an investment in him finishing as Pakistan’s top bowler for a second consecutive ICC Cricket World Cup fixture.
BETTING ANALYSIS For Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka’s bowling attack was well truly put to the sword against South Africa in Delhi this past Saturday, the Proteas racking up an ICC Cricket World Cup record score of 428 batting first. Such a total was always likely to prove too big for Sri Lanka to chase down, but their batters did at least show some fight, scoring 326 before being bowled out after 44.5 overs. Kusal Mendis remains the star performer among the Sri Lankan top order and his 76 against South Africa was his second individual score of 70+ runs in his last three official ODI innings. Whilst backing him to achieve the same feat here represents a very high-risk bet, a safer move would be to back Mendis to score over 24.5 runs via the ‘Batter Match Runs’ market. It may also prove a shrewd move backing Mendis to finish as Sri Lanka’s top batter for a fourth consecutive official ODI. The last time these two nations collided back in the 2023 Asia Cup, Matheesha Pathirana starred with the ball for Sri Lanka, picking up three wickets in an eventual victory for his side. The right-arm pacer will have an important role to play again this time round and backing him to take over 1.5 wickets is worth serious consideration.
CRICKET 8’S EXPERT PREDICTION
The 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup should be seen as the ideal stage for Pakistan to exact revenge on Sri Lanka for their 2023 Asia Cup loss last month. Whilst that contest took place in Colombo, this match will be staged at a very different venue in Hyderabad, one which Pakistan is well-accustomed to following their win over the Netherlands. The worry for Sri Lanka is that their bowlers will be lacking confidence after conceding 428 runs to South Africa only a few days ago. Pakistan’s top order is in a good position to take advantage of this and with a strong bowling attack set to complement them nicely, Babar Azam’s men are well worth backing to record back-to-back group stage victories.
